the keshvani press employment

5 June 2010

To whom it may concern

I am pleased to have known Nisar Keshvani since the year 2000. Nisar was a lecturer at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, when I was a student there. Nisar was the Editor-in Chief, when I worked under him for 12 months as "Opportunities Editor" for fineArt forum. Later, Nisar was Editor-in-Chief with the Leonardo Electronic Almanac, when I worked closely with him, as Assistant Editor in 2002-3.

From my first meeting with him at an interview, I have had great respect for Nisar. This respect springs from seeing his professional attitude, his dedication to doing everything to a high standard, and his thoroughness in achieving worthwhile results.

Nisar sent students who needed help with their English expression to another student who could assist them. Nisar always listened, and was accepting of input and ideas from his student-helpers.

As well as his wide command of professional skills as a lecturer, editor and in administration, Nisar was always attentive to the needs of his students. His students were generally loyal, grateful for his attention, and the way he shared his expertise.

Nisar also ensured that the students worked together well and cohesively. For example, he had me train an editor to replace me, beginning well before it was time for me to move on. Nisar sent students who needed help with their English expression to another student who could assist them. Nisar always listened, and was accepting of input and ideas from his student-helpers.

At get-togethers of the fineArt forum staff, Nisar would be there, relaxed and moving amongst the students, conversing liberally with his warm sense of humour.

Leonardo Electronic Almanac

Nisar's role as the Editor-in-chief of this electronic journal was a demanding one, and it seemed he rose to it admirably. I was most grateful to be given the opportunity to work closely online with Nisar, and did so for twelve months, on the staff of Leonardo's Electronic Almanac.

With staff in various international locations, Nisar challenged us to produce a high standard of regular on-time work-flow, and provided a sound framework of procedures and processes, for the work we were doing. While providing strong leadership and example for the staff, Nisar was most accepting of our creativity, and any suggestion to improve our workflow was warmly welcomed.

I have no hesitation in recommending Nisar to you, and wish him every success in his future endeavours. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information.

Yours sincerely,
Elizabeth Rainbow
