Show presents crafts from 30 countries
Stationery & Gift Gallery: 8th Asian International Gift Fair
Gifts and Home Products - August 1997

This year’s Asian International Gift, Handicraft and Stationery Fair primarily showcased products from 30 countries. Among the displays were handmade greeting cards from Mauritius, camel-leather items from India, and wooden scrolls from Malaysia.

The exhibit also covered books and albums with laser-cut cover designs, and a collection of watches with specified messages.

Show enhancements included a specially designed showcase for new products and a pre-registration scheme which minimized public entry.

The fair ran from April 22 to 25 at the Singapore Suntec Center. It occupied an area of 4,500 square meters which is larger by 25 percent compared with last year’s 3,850 square meters. More than 500 companies, of which 70 percent were foreigners, participated.

The show was endorsed by both the Singapore Trade Development Board and Singapore Convention Bureau under the Approved International Fair (AIF) Scheme.
